Advent in Narnia by Heidi Haverkamp

26402754Advent in Narnia by Heidi Haverkamp is a wonderful devotional. The book is written to follow the season of Advent and a small group studying The Lion, The Witch and The Warddrobe with matching scripture.

This book handles small chapters taking about the clever, subtle ways that Lewis wrote Christianity, the marvel, the magic, and the myth into his novel, his characters, the choices they make. The chapters parallel and match each other, so a short excerpt section/topic/character from the book and then a matching piece from scripture. The Chapters are divided by Advent weeks, and then the sections inside are short (rarely more than two pages each), the questions are deep for evoking discussions.

There are directions for how to throw A Narnia Day at the end, too, for the Discussion Group or a whole church. There are activities and there are recipes. I really loved this and think it would be a great recourse.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
