Big Nate: Revenge of the Cream Puffs by Lincoln Peirce

cover93102-mediumBig Nate: Revenge of the Cream Puffs by Lincoln Peirce. This is a graphic novel series about a young boy, Nate, in middle school.  As Nate goes through middle school, he encounters many trials, from losing in a baseball game to getting embarrassed by his dad.

The artwork in this book is simple and consistent throughout. As I read I felt like I was watching an animated movie. The drawings of the characters, the settings and even the speech bubbles are cute, and creative.

This book is geared for middle grade readers. Nate goes through common experiences that every student experiences; such as,  flunking a test, having ideas that he thinks could make him a millionaire, having verbal very stupid battles with his best friends and facing his fears. The characters in this book are funny. All the middle school stereotypes are played out truthfully.

I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars because I really liked it but it was not all that extraordinary.

I received this book from Andrews McMeel Publishing via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
